Herbie Hancock is a keyboard player who joined the Miles Davis Group in the 1960s and contributed greatly to the production of masterpieces such as "E.S.P.", "Miles Smiles" and "Nefertiti". He is a top musician still active at the forefront of the jazz scene, playing not only modern jazz, but also jazz fusion, jazz funk, and a variety of other styles. Jaco Pastorius was nominated as a substitute for Paul Jackson, a regular member of the Headhunters tour led by Jaco Pastorius, who was unable to join the tour in 1977 due to scheduling conflicts. Jaco Pastorius' debut album with Herbie Hancock, for which Herbie Hancock wrote the liner notes, was a great opportunity for the band. This rare concert in Chicago was recorded and broadcast as a radio program.
