Description:
From the "FROM THE POLISH RADIO ARCHIVES" series, produced by Polskie Radio, the independent label of Polish Radio (Polskie Radio/Polish Radio), a public broadcasting station in Poland, which releases on CD rare recordings in the station's archives, This 3-CD set features the music of Eugeniusz Morawski, a Polish composer from the first half of the 20th century. Although most of Morawski's work was lost during the Warsaw Uprising and thus cannot be heard in its entirety, he has earned a distinguished reputation among contemporary German and Polish music scholars that ranks him with his contemporaries Szymanowski and Karowicz. This album contains three extant symphonic poems and two outstanding ballet pieces. It is rare to find such a comprehensive album, and the Polish Broadcasting Corporation's independent label makes this release possible. Tokyo M-Plus
